An Open Letter to my Mother

Last year I wrote my Mom an open letter. Now that I am 9 months pregnant, thoughts of my mother and all she did for me have been very present in my mind. I am re-posting this for the second time now, because it will never get old. I will never stop loving and appreciating her for all she did for me. She is the greatest mother, and I hope to emulate her in the coming years with my own little one.

Fifty Shades of Excuse my French

This is not a book review. Neither is it a movie review. However, I would like to talk about my recent encounter with the hit novel (and more recently, the hit movie), Fifty Shades of Grey, by EL James.

I’m not being rude when I call it ‘Fifty Shades of Excuse My French’, I am merely quoting […]

Go Home Cinderella, You’re drunk – The Fairytale of New Years Resolutions

New Years Resolutions are nothing but frilly dresses put on for a party. They don’t work because they are too grandly packaged. They are the ostentatious, in-your-face, assholes of self-betterment, intimidating you and making you feel as though you are not good enough for the ball in your rags. But the fairy-god-mother-dust of improving your life is not as hard to find as you might think.

Care Bear Hair

This latest craze in hair has been around the block a few times before, but never till now did we see so many iridescent heads bobbing around in our every day crowds. The mainstream runs thick with a tapestry of hues and it’s here to stay.

An Open Letter to my Mother

Dear Mom

On this Mothers day, I would like you to reflect on your accomplishments and achievements in the form of your children. Specifically me, your fifth child, and what it means to have been raised by you.

You made me and kept me safe till birth, cutting out anything from your own diet that could affect […]

Dream Catcher

A few years ago I embarked on a sabbatical of sorts. I left a very corporate office job for something most people would describe as being a housewife, or even lady-of-leisure. I embraced this title for a time, but only because answering 'Full-time Dream-Catcher' to the inevitable ‘So, what do you do?’ question at dinner parties generally results in strangers looking at you like you’re a freak. Because not everybody understands following your passion.

For The Love Of Music

“Music…gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.” – Plato Learning to play a musical instrument as an adult can be a daunting task. Feeling as though you have bricks for hands and mush for brains is not, I am told, an uncommon trait for someone coming to the party so late in their lives. But the reward is infinitely worth it.
